Local News in Brief : Westminster : 5 Hurt in Crash When Driver Suffers Seizure
Five people were injured Sunday when a Riverside man apparently suffered a seizure as he was driving along Beach Boulevard in Westminster and lost control of the vehicle.
The car careened through a gas station island and slammed into a 40-foot pole, police said.
Police said the driver, 41-year-old Melvin Louis Sajid, has a history of seizures.
The accident occurred at 13741 Beach Blvd. Four passengers in the vehicle suffered injuries ranging from cuts and bruises to a broken hip.
The victims were taken to hospitals in Fountain Valley and Westminster.
