Arcadia : Hospital to Ban Smoking
Methodist Hospital of Southern California will ban smoking throughout the facility starting Sept. 1, except for patients who have written orders from their attending physicians allowing them to smoke.
The hospital took the step because it has had requests for a smoke-free environment and because the California Hospital Assn. has urged all hospitals to establish a smoke-free policy, said hospital spokeswoman Marilyn Morrison.
