The Los Angeles County coroner’s office is still trying to identify a man and a woman who were killed Tuesday night when they plunged onto eastbound lanes of the Hollywood Freeway from the Los Angeles Street overpass and were struck by one or more cars. Police said the couple appeared to be in their 40s or 50s. The man was dead at the scene and the woman was taken to County-USC Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. Coroner’s spokesman Bill Gold said neither the man nor the woman appeared to have been carrying identification, and efforts to trace them through other items found on the bodies has been unsuccessful.
