A Venice woman shot and killed her husband while the couple played in bed with what both apparently believed were unloaded pistols. Los Angeles Police Detective David Straky said the 27-year-old victim and his 25-year-old wife often went to target practice at the Beverly Hills Gun Club and reportedly had a habit of pointing unloaded guns at each other and “dry-firing” them. He said the woman had returned from a trip just two hours before the shooting, and the victim may have loaded his wife’s weapon when she was out of town and forgot to tell her. “It appears at this time that there is no foul play,” Straky said. “She was not arrested.” The couple’s names were withheld until relatives could be notified. They had no children.
