Funds for Abortions
It would seem that Reagan has learned nothing from the Iran- contra fiasco. Instead, he has once again chosen to ignore the specific desires of Congress and the American people, this time by attempting to deny poor women the right to abortion counseling.
The American people must make it clear to Reagan that he was elected to serve the will of the people, not impose his own desires upon an unwilling public. In case no one has told him, that is the behavior of a dictator.
It is up to the American people and the press to condemn, in the strongest possible terms, this latest subversion of the democratic process, or we will see our basic rights chipped away bit by bit.
