Adult Drowns, Child Unharmed in Pool
A 28-year-old Los Angeles man drowned in a North Hollywood pool while playing with a 2-year-old who was unharmed, police said.
The death of the man, identified Tuesday as Young W. Park, was classified as accidental pending an autopsy, said Mel Arnold, coordinator of homicide detectives at the Van Nuys Division of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Arnold said Park’s body was discovered Monday about 4:30 p.m. by Young How Choi, 64, owner of the residence in the 12700 block of Stagg Street.
Arnold said police detectives ruled out suicide or murder in the death, but they had “no idea whether a rescue attempt or poor swimming habits caused the victim’s demise.”
