The Region : Shots Fired at Motorist
Shots reportedly were fired from a rust-colored van at a woman on the southbound Golden State Freeway near Roxford Street in Sylmar, but they missed their target, the California Highway Patrol said. Officer Bill Burdick said the unidentified woman, who was “rather hysterical on the phone,” reported seeing a flash of gunfire from the window of the van. Meanwhile, authorities identified Henry Kingi, 43, a stunt driver for the TV show “Dukes of Hazzard,” and estranged husband of actress Lindsay Wagner, as a victim of a roadway shooting Saturday night in the San Fernando Valley. Kingi was driving with his 4-year-old son near Ventura and Laurel Canyon boulevards when he and a group of teen-agers in a Jeep got into a fight and one of the youths shot Kingi. Kingi was hospitalized in serious condition with a gunshot wound to the side. Six people were questioned, but none was arrested.
