Huntington Beach : Police Identify Woman Found Stabbed to Death
A Huntington Beach woman found stabbed to death Thursday in her apartment was identified Friday as Jami J. Vitteli, 25.
Police had interviewed more than 50 people and were continuing interviews throughout the day. But officers had no suspects and knew of no motive, Lt. Ed McErlain said.
Police believe that Vitteli was killed Thursday morning. A friend who came by to visit at about noon found the body in the living room at 906 Orange Ave., McErlain said. No weapon was found.
Vitteli, who was unemployed, frequented the Huntington Beach Pier and was often seen at the Sugar Shack restaurant and Perqs bar, McErlain said.
She had argued with a male at 2 a.m. either Wednesday or Thursday morning at Perqs, McErlain said. Police were given conflicting statements about the day of the dispute but were told that she was seen at Perqs between midnight and 1 a.m. Thursday.
“We’re hoping to have someone come forward with information about who the person is or if they saw her in the bar,” McErlain said.
Anyone with information is asked to call (714) 536-5951 during business hours or the Police Department’s 24-hour dispatch line at (714) 960-8811.
