Los Alamitos : Man Held in Shooting Death of Brother-in-Law
A Los Alamitos man was being held for the murder of his brother-in-law Friday following a domestic argument between the suspect’s sister and her husband, police said.
Dale Crittenden, 31, was being held without bail at County Jail following the shotgun shooting death of his next-door neighbor and brother-in-law, Eric Chastain, 35, Police Cmdr. Orville Lewis said.
Crittenden was inside his house when he shot Chastain, who was outdoors, police said.
Before the shooting, which occurred at about 6 p.m. Thursday, Chastain had argued with his wife, Debbie, according to Police Cmdr. Gary Biggerstaff.
Police said they did not know what the argument was about.
Crittenden telephoned police to report that he had shot his brother-in-law, Biggerstaff said.
