Child molestation charges against Los Angeles police Officer Doyle John Craig were dismissed by Orange County Municipal Judge Linda Miller, who said there was not enough evidence to prosecute. Craig, 32, an Anaheim resident and 11-year veteran of the Los Angeles force, was accused of molesting six youths, aged 11 to 17, between 1981 and 1986. Defense attorney Paul Wallin said the investigation by LAPD internal affairs officers and the Orange County district attorney’s office “was reprehensible.” A Police Department Board of Rights hearing now will be held to determine whether he should be reinstated or dismissed.
