Azusa : Canyon Litter Cleanup
Operation Super Sweep, a litter cleanup and recycling project, will be held Saturday in San Gabriel Canyon. Volunteers can register from 7 to 9 a.m. at Rincon Fire Station, Highway 39 at Azusa Avenue. They will be taken to canyon sites in vehicles provided by the county Forestry and Fire departments and the California Conservation Corps. Food will be provided and prizes awarded.
Trash will be returned to the staging area and immediately processed for reclamation. Proceeds from the recycled material will be given to For Kids Sake, an Orange County organization that provides care and counseling for abused children.
The project is sponsored by the Los Angeles County Department of Agriculture and Weights and Measures.
