Westwood : Slow-Growth Discussion
Attorney Douglas Ring, who has represented both builders and municipalities in negotiations for new projects, will address the Los Angeles West Chamber of Commerce, 10880 Wilshire Blvd., at noon Tuesday.
Ring will discuss a 10-point program proposed by Los Angeles Councilmen Marvin Braude and Zev Yaroslavsky which would expand provisions of the Proposition U slow-growth measure approved by voters in November.
The plan would require commercial developments larger than 50,000 square feet to obtain discretionary approval from the Los Angeles City Council.
The chamber’s transportation and planning committee will meet at noon May 21 to hear a report by Otis Hendricks of the Southern California Rapid Transit District on Metro Rail.
