Walnut : May Is Cleanup Month
The city is asking residents to clean up their acts and providing incentives for getting rid of everything from inoperable cars to old sofas. May is cleanup month and residents who have discards in their yards which weigh less than 100 pounds may phone Griffith’s Disposal to have the junk hauled away. In a program that will extend indefinitely, the city will help residents rid their driveways and garages of the estimated 100 inoperable vehicles in Walnut. Resident will pay $20, which will be matched by the city, and Walnut Valley Towing Co., which ordinarily does not take junk cars, will get rid of the vehicles.
