Pasadena : Vote on Huntington Slated
After months of debate and campaigning, the fate of the historic Huntington Sheraton hotel will be decided by the voters in a special election Tuesday.
The only issue on the ballot will be whether the city should grant a zoning change that will allow the demolition of the hotel’s main structure and its replacement with a similar-looking modern hotel.
A yes vote would grant the zoning change and allow developer Lary Mielke to proceed with his construction project. A no vote would prohibit the zoning change and block Mielke’s development plans.
