Wilmington : Work to Begin on Library
Ground-breaking ceremonies for the $2.5-million Wilmington branch of the Los Angeles Public Library will be held at 10 a.m. May 21 at 1300 S. Avalon Blvd.
The library, funded by federal Community Block Grant funds, will replace the 3,700-square-foot facility at 309 W. Opp St., which opened in 1927. The new 10,800-square-foot building will house more than 30,000 volumes. It will have seating for 60 people and a community meeting room.
