Local News in Brief : Pedestrian, 29, Killed by Car in Northridge
A 29-year-old Northridge man was killed Saturday morning when he ran in front of a car on Lassen Street in Northridge, Los Angeles police said.
Witnesses reported that Daniel H. DeGraff raced into the street “suddenly and without apparent reason” shortly after 8 a.m., Police Officer Bill Wilkins said.
DeGraff was struck half a block west of Amestoy Avenue by a car driven by Yong J. Park, 24, of Chatsworth, police said.
DeGraff was pronounced dead at Northridge Hospital Medical Center.
Wilkins said Park will not be charged.
