AIDS Hot Line for Deaf Persons Begun
AIDS Project Los Angeles has implemented a hot line number for the hearing impaired, utilizing a TDD (telephone device for the deaf with a keyboard) phone line.
The hot line offers information, support and referrals regarding AIDS and related issues. The toll-free number is 1-800-553-AIDS (2437). It is available weekdays from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. and on weekends from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Other AIDS hot lines are for Spanish-speaking callers, 1-800-222-SIDA, and two for English-speaking callers: (213) 876-AIDS and 1-800-922-AIDS.
