Car Flips, Kills Woman on Las Virgenes Road
A Woodland Hills woman was killed late Monday when her car drifted off a mountain road, hit an embankment and overturned, authorities said.
Nicole Braun, 22, was driving northbound on Las Virgenes Road near Calabasas at 11:15 p.m. when she apparently lost control of the vehicle, according to Officer John Nielsen of the California Highway Patrol.
Braun’s car drifted off the right side of the roadway near Soka University, hit the dirt embankment and overturned, Nielsen said. The victim, who wore a lap seat belt, was thrown partially under the vehicle when the driver’s door came off and was dragged 80 feet before the car stopped, he said.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
