Al Wilson, 23, a former UCLA wide receiver, was reported missing from his home in Carson since Sunday evening. According to Sgt. Sally Fynan of the Sheriff’s Dept., the missing persons unit has sent out a nationwide description of him and the borrowed pickup truck he was driving. Deputies have checked with his friends, local hospitals and jails as well as the coroner’s office.
Wilson’s father, Johnny Wilson, said that he and Al had watched the Raider game on television together Sunday, and that Al apparently had gone out, alone, while his parents had gone out for dinner. “It’s just not like him to be gone even one night without giving us a call,” Johnny Wilson said. “It’s really not like him to miss work. I knew something was wrong when his friends called here looking for him and said he didn’t go to work Monday.”
