Student Shot to Death in School
SENATH, Mo. — A 15-year-old high school student was shot to death today in the doorway of his science class by a 16-year-old schoolmate who went to the room with a shotgun hidden behind his back, authorities said.
The assailant had told the teacher that Lesley Wyatt was wanted in a counselor’s office, Duncan County Sheriff Jim Elliott said. As Wyatt, a sophomore, stepped into the doorway, he was shot once in the lower abdomen and died a short time later in surgery. The assailant then surrendered his gun to a teacher. The two boys had apparently been involved in some type of confrontation two weeks ago at the school, Elliott said.
