Santa Monica : Teacher Joins Program
Karen Sue Grosz, an English teacher at Santa Monica College, has been chosen to participate in an international leadership training program for instructors at two-year colleges.
Sponsored by the League for Innovation in Community Colleges and the American Assn. of Women in Community and Junior Colleges, the Leaders Project will train 160 women to be leaders and decision-makers.
Grosz has taught at Santa Monica College for 15 years. In 1984-85, she served as president of the Santa Monica College Academic Senate and the Santa Monica League of Women Voters. She is secretary to the statewide Academic Senate for California Community Colleges.
As part of the program, Grosz will prepare a faculty handbook and a handbook for high school students transferring to a community college. Her mentor will be Robert Silverman, dean of instructional services.
