Ex-Gov. King Won’t Run

BOSTON — Former Gov. Edward J. King announced today that he will not seek the GOP nomination this fall for a rematch for governor against Democrat Michael S. Dukakis. King, who governed the state from 1979 to 1982, switched to the GOP after losing the 1982 primary to Dukakis.
