Citing continuing effects of a quality-control problem with aerospace parts and soaring product-liability costs, Santa Monica-based Lear Siegler Inc. said its earnings dropped 26% in the second quarter. Lear Siegler makes systems for military and commercial aerospace industries, machine tools, farm and automotive equipment and electronics.
