The executor of the estate of dancer Esvan Mosby was shot to death by Mosby’s family chauffeur, Los Angeles police said. Detectives said the executor, Charles Williams, 63, had just informed chauffeur Jesus Rahisi Moja that he must vacate his living quarters at Mosby’s Crenshaw District home when Moja, 31, opened fire with a handgun, after which he telephoned police, surrendered, and was booked on suspicion of murder. Williams, an aide to City Councilman Gilbert Lindsay, was pronounced dead at Mosby’s house. Mosby, 75, who danced at New York’s legendary Cotton Club and the Apollo Theater in the 1930s and ‘40s, died of natural causes Thursday.
