Suspect Held After Bombs Are Found
EL CAJON — An unemployed 24-year-old man was arrested late Saturday after police reportedly discovered pipe bombs in various stages of completion and stolen property at his home.
El Cajon police were dispatched to the residence of Christopher Francis Watson at 10:25 p.m. in response to reports of gunfire. Police reported finding a pipe bomb, several others in various stages of manufacture, and an undisclosed number of suspected stolen items, some of which had had their serial numbers removed.
Watson was booked at county jail on suspicion of possession of a destructive device and possession of stolen property, police said. The bomb squad of the San Diego Sheriff’s Department removed the pipe bomb and other explosive material from the home.
