Santa Ana : Bar Patron Shot to Death in Altercation
A 30-year-old bar patron was shot and killed by a security guard during an altercation at the Gemini Bar Saturday night in which the guard was wounded.
Santa Ana police said the guard fired at the patron, Marcelo Jaimes of Santa Ana, after Jaimes had shot the guard in the chest at the bar, located at 316 N. Harbor Blvd. Jaimes was found dead at the scene with gunshot wounds to the chest when investigators arrived about midnight.
The guard, Andres Hernandez, also of Santa Ana, was listed in stable condition at UCI Medical Center in Orange. No charges have been filed, although the shooting is still under investigation.
