Man Held in Shooting Death of His Son, 3
VISTA — A 36-year-old unemployed Warner Springs man was held in lieu of $25,000 bail Friday after the shooting death of his 3-year-old son, San Diego County Sheriff’s Department deputies said.
Gregory C. Monreal was held in the County Jail here on suspicion of voluntary manslaughter after shooting his son, Joseph, in the head with a rifle Thursday evening, deputies said.
Monreal apparently was arguing with his wife when the incident occurred, deputies said.
Monreal was arrested at the scene, where deputies said another weapon was also confiscated.
