Pool season splashdown starts March 13 in Las Vegas

Reporting from Las Vegas — Yes, already. Pool season always starts early in Las Vegas. On Tuesday, the first of many day-life parties announced an opening date for, well, technically winter.
Wet Republic at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino gets bikini-ready for its opening March 13.
Of course, a true grand opening for the pool doesn’t happen until spring. That’s when deejays Calvin Harris and cake tosser and crowd surfer Steve Aoki soak the decks April 11 and 12.
Tiësto, Dada Life, Hardwell and Showtek are just some of the other deejays set to perform at the 54,500-square-foot venue.
And even though music, tiny bikinis and high heels are the calling cards of the daytime party at Wet Republic, there is a pool -- in fact eight in all, with two filled with salt water. Tricked out VIP bungalows, cabanas and daybeds can be yours ... for a price, as can 15-liter bottles of Veuve Clicquot Champagne.
Last year, the pools wrapped up a two-year renovation that included an expanded deejay booth, an upgraded LED display, expanded bar and new furniture.
And, of course, Wet Republic has its own valet service.
Tickets for the 2015 season are on sale now.
