NBA roundup: Hawks set team record with 14th win in a row

DeMarre Carroll and Jeff Teague each scored 17 points to lead a balanced offense, Kyle Korver dunked for the first time in more than two years, and the Atlanta Hawks tied a franchise record with their 14th consecutive victory, routing the visiting Indiana Pacers, 110-91, on Wednesday night.

The Hawks improved to a stunning 35-8 and Mike Budenholzer clinched a spot as the Eastern Conference coach in next month’s All-Star game in New York.

The Hawks romped to their 28th victory in the last 30 games, showing the kind of teamwork that has become their trademark in a season that no one saw coming. Ten Hawks had scored by halftime, and all five starters finished in double figures.

at Golden State 126, Houston 113: Stephen Curry got involved in an altercation with Trevor Ariza before finishing with 22 points and 10 assists, and the Warriors got their franchise-record 17th straight home win.

New York 98, at Philadelphia 91: Carmelo Anthony had 27 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Knicks to their second win in row after a 16-game losing streak. The 76ers’ eight wins are only one more than New York’s total, and each team is battling to better its odds to win the No. 1 pick in the draft lottery.

Oklahoma City 105, at Washington 103 (OT): Russell Westbrook drove for the winning layup with 0.8 of a second left in overtime, and Kevin Durant scored 34 points as the Thunder won its fourth in a row. Durant and Westbrook (32 overall) scored all 13 of the Thunder’s points in the extra period.

at Memphis 92, Toronto 86: Marc Gasol scored 26 points, Zach Randolph had 19 points and 13 rebounds, and the Grizzlies broke open a close game with a 13-3 run midway through the fourth quarter. There were 14 ties and six lead changes for the night.

at Cleveland 106, Utah 92: LeBron James scored 26 points, Kevin Love added 19 and the rejuvenated Cavaliers won their fourth in a row. Cleveland is 4-1 since the four-time MVP returned after missing eight games because of a strained back and knee.

Dallas 98, at Minnesota 75: Chandler Parsons scored 22 points, and the Mavericks made 11 three-pointers against the Timberwolves (7-34), who tied a franchise mark for worst record halfway through the season.

at Detroit 128, Orlando 118: Brandon Jennings had 24 points and a career-high 21 assists, and the Pistons hung on after nearly blowing a 21-point lead. Andre Drummond added 26 points and 16 rebounds for the Pistons, who have won 12 of 15.

at Charlotte 78, Miami 76: Kemba Walker scored 15 points, Bismack Biyombo had 12 points and 12 rebounds, and the surging Hornets won for the eighth time in nine games despite going without a field goal in the final seven minutes.

at Phoenix 118, Portland 113: Season-high points by Eric Bledsoe with 33 and Isaiah Thomas with 27 saved the Suns after they watched a 25-point first-half lead evaporate but won their seventh consecutive home game.

Brooklyn 103, at Sacramento 100: Brook Lopez had 22 points and six blocks and the Nets picked up their second win in 10 games.
