Down by two points with time running out, South Gate turned to Gerardo Zavala, who made a three-pointer as time expired on Monday night, giving the Rams a 57-56 Eastern League victory over Garfield.
South Gate improved to 6-1 in league.
Zavala finished with 24 points.
