Vehicles tagged with swastikas, racial slurs in Pacific Palisades
Police are asking for the public’s help in finding the person or persons responsible for tagging seven cars in Pacific Palisades with swastikas and racial slurs on Sunday.
Seven cars parked curbside in a 3-square-mile area north and south of Sunset Boulevard were defaced between 4 a.m. and 8 a.m., according to Los Angeles police.
Maritza Roberts, whose car was among those targeted, told KTLA that she felt “violated, invaded, disgusted†after she discovered a swastika and an apparent misspelling of the word “fuhrer†spray-painted on her vehicle.
“I’m angry, because you just don’t do something like this,†she said.
The vandal or vandals “had no clue what car belonged to who, based on the victims,†LAPD Lt. Rudy Lopez said.
“There may be references to Hispanics or blacks, and that car may have belonged to a white person, in some cases,†he said.
Although the upscale neighborhood is patrolled 24 hours a day by a private security company, and some homes are equipped with surveillance cameras, a description of the perpetrator or perpetrators was not immediately available.
