Suspect may have wheeled woman’s body miles in trash bin, police say
Police are searching for a man they believe killed a woman, stuffed her body in a trash bin and wheeled it for miles to his ex-girlfriend’s house.
The ex-girlfriend discovered the body around 10 p.m. Friday and walked to the LAPD’s 77th Street station to report it, said watch Cmdr. Rudy Alaniz.
The victim was described as a Latina in her mid-20s. The suspect, who wasn’t identified by police, was described as being in his mid-30s.
Alaniz said details on where the trash bin came from were not immediately available.
It’s unclear whether the suspect knew the victim, whose body was abandoned in a residential-size trash container near homes at McKinley Avenue and East 79th Street. Alaniz said the victim, who hadn’t been identified by investigators, may have been dead more than 24 hours.
A cause of death hasn’t been determined, he said.
