Temperatures expected to cool by midweek
It’s going to be a sweltering Sunday in Southern California, but a cooling trend is expected to bring mild temperatures by midweek, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures are expected to climb to the mid-90s in the interior valleys, with Woodland Hills likely to be the hot spot at 95 and Pasadena and Burbank reaching the low 90s, said meteorologist Robbie Munroe. Downtown Los Angeles will likely hit 90 degrees.
Life at the beach will be more pleasant, with temperatures expected to top out in the mid-70s.
By Wednesday, however, temperatures in the valleys and downtown are expected to drop into the mid-80s.
