LAX did not immediately respond for comment.

This is not the first time Khan has had issues when flying to the United States.

In 2009, he was detained at the airport in Newark, N.J., eliciting an outcry and a U.S. apology. In 2012, he was detained again, this time at the airport in White Plains, N.Y., on his way to give a speech at Yale.

“Whenever I start feeling too arrogant about myself, I always take a trip to America,†he said during his speech, after his release. “The immigration guys kicked the star out of stardom.â€

In the most recent incident, Khan tried to stay positive.

Khan responded: “No hassle ma’m.Respect the protocol, not expecting to b above it. Appreciate ur graciousness, its just inconvenient.â€
