Burger King French Fry Burger joins growing list of food mash-ups
Burger King is to begin selling a $1 “French Fry Burger†next week, as in French fries piled on top of a hamburger patty.
For all of you out there -- and you know who you are -- who already pile French fries on top of your burger, sorry. You cannot claim credit for the Burger King French Fry Burger, and it’s doubtful you will get any kind of inventor discount at the Burger King drive-through window.
Burger King’s French Fry Burger is the latest food mash-up we’ve seen -- but certainly not the last.

This year alone has seen the Cronut and the Crö-dough, the Taco Bell Waffle Taco, Pepsi-flavored Cheetos, Pepsi chicken chips, Flamin’ Hot Cheetos bacon pancakes, the Krispy Kreme Sloppy Joe, a Ramen Burger, the Carl’s Jr. Pop-Tart Ice Cream Sandwich, the Taco Bell Doritos Locos Tacos, the Dunkin’ Donuts bacon sammie ...
The Burger King French Fry Burger seems downright tame compared to that list!
What is is about food mash-ups that we love so? Is it the novelty? The “ah-that-hits-the-spot†mixing and matching of salty and sweet, and hot and tangy?
All that aside, business experts say the Burger King French Fry Burger is priced to give McDonald’s Dollar Menu some competition. Do you think the gambit will work?
