Easy fire in Simi Valley

A large brush fire erupted in Simi Valley early Wednesday, and has caused portions of Simi Valley, Moorpark and Thousand Oaks to undergo mandatory evacuations.
The blaze has surrounded the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, which is near dense brush. Flames burned on either side but the library has not sustained damage thus far, officials said.

Getty fire along the 405 Freeway

A wind-driven brush fire chewed through hillside communities on the Westside of Los Angeles on Monday, burning homes and prompting widespread evacuations. The fire was started by a tree branch that fell on power lines, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti said Tuesday evening.
With extreme red flag warnings issued amid powerful winds, firefighters were hoping to increase containment of the Getty fire on Wednesday and prevent it from flaring up.
The Eames House, one of Los Angeles’ greatest landmarks of Midcentury Modern architecture — closed Monday as part of the evacuation zone. The fire licked the edges of the Getty Center campus, but the art and archives are safe, the museum said.
Thousands of people were ordered to evacuate some of the priciest enclaves on Earth. Housekeepers and a gardener showed up to work despite the flames, one reporter found.

Tick fire near Santa Clarita
Firefighters were close to gaining the upper hand on a brush fire that broke out Thursday afternoon. By Wednesday, the Tick fire was 94% contained.
The fire forced thousands of residents in the Santa Clarita Valley to evacuate over the weekend. All evacuation orders were lifted Sunday evening.

Old Water fire in San Bernardino

A windblown brush fire that erupted early Thursday near the San Bernardino National Forest is at 85% containment, according to the San Bernardino County Fire District.
The Old Water fire reminded residents of the 2003 Old fire, which destroyed hundreds of homes and caused an estimated $1.2 billion in damages.

Fire in Sepulveda Basin
The fire that broke out in the Sepulveda Basin in the San Fernando Valley and burned 60 acres was 80% contained as of Friday.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Officials said no structures were damaged.
