Porsche recalls Macans to fix fuel line that could leak and cause fire

Porsche has announced the safety recall of 58,881 Macan S and Macan Turbo crossovers.

The vehicles could develop leaks in a low-pressure fuel line inside the engine compartment, which could then cause a fire, but the company said there have been no reports of accidents or injuries.

Porsche, an arm of Volkswagen, said 21,835 of the affected vehicles are in the U.S. and another 3,490 are in Canada.

Owners of the affected vehicles will be contacted by their area dealers, who will perform the estimated one-hour repair.

Earlier this week, the Volkswagen-owned British company Bentley also issued a voluntary safety recall. Bentley said 27,640 Continental GT, Continental GTC and Flying Spur luxury automobiles would require service to correct problems with faulty battery cables.
