BOYS GAME OF THE DAY
Westchester (29-2) vs. Woodland Hills Taft (25-3) at the Galen Center.
Tonight at 8.
Why it matters: The City Section Division I title is on the line in a matchup between the two most dominant programs this decade. Top-seeded Westchester has terrific chemistry, top guards in Dominic O’Connor and Jordin Mayes and an improving leaper in 6-foot-6 junior Dwayne Polee Jr. No. 3-seeded Taft has a prolific rebounder in Terran Carter and knows how to play tough man-to-man defense in a half-court setting. Westchester is seeking its seventh City title this decade. Taft is after its third title. In the
6 p.m. game, Taft will play Chatsworth for the Division I girls’ title.
Other boys’ games: at Ontario Colony -- Division V-A: Los Angeles Windward (24-6) vs. La Verne Lutheran (24-6), 4:30. Division VI-A: Ojai Besant Hill (21-1) vs. Compton Hope Centre (17-0), 6:30.
