‘Sister Act’ musical planned
Pasadena Playhouse would be the pre-Broadway home of a new musical based on the movie “Sister Act” in the fall of 2006, if enough money is raised for the project, said Sheldon Epps, the playhouse’s artistic director.
The musical is slated to be co-produced and staged by Peter Schneider, the former Disney animation and theatricals president who last year staged “Grand Hotel” at the Colony Theatre in Burbank.
Alan Menken is the composer, Glenn Slater the lyricist and Cheri and Bill Steinkellner the librettists.
