Update -- Lackey has been one of baseball’s most effective pitchers since late April, going 4-1 with a 2.82 earned-run average in his last 11 starts, giving up only 22 earned runs in 70 1/3 innings. Angel right fielder Vladimir Guerrero is batting .450 (23 for 51) with four homers and 13 RBIs in 12 games since coming off the disabled list. After losing the first eight games of a 13-game trip, the Dodgers gained at least a sliver of momentum with a win over San Diego on Wednesday night and a 4-3 victory Thursday over the Padres, in which the Dodgers erased a 3-0 deficit after seven innings.
