No fan of the mega-cruisers
I agree with the writer of “Cruise Lines Are Making a Big Mistake” [Letters, May 8] about the ever-growing size of cruise ships.
I took my mother on the last cruise of American Hawaii Cruises, on the totally charming Independence. What a lovely and relaxed way to see the Hawaiian Islands, on a ship small enough to feel like your own yacht.
We were sorry to see it go and be replaced by another gigantic, floating monster.
