Rescue Crews Search for 11-Year-Old Boy Scout
Search and rescue crews were looking for an 11-year-old Boy Scout missing since Friday.
The boy was last seen about 5 p.m. Friday at a camp about 50 miles northeast of Kamas in Summit County. Fellow Scouts, rescue crews with dogs and a helicopter from the Utah Department of Public Safety were assisting in the search.
“Every resource we have available to us we’re utilizing now,” said Chief Deputy Dave Booth of the Summit County Sheriff’s Department.
The boy was wearing a sweatshirt, shorts and tennis shoes. Booth said temperatures in the region dropped no lower than the 50s overnight, so exposure was probably not a problem.
