Viewers turn to comedy shows
Comedy ruled with television viewers on Monday night, when CBS dished up five back-to-back repeats of “Two and a Half Men,” seeking to build viewer interest for the fall season.
CBS outperformed its broadcast rivals in total viewers and among young viewers, ages 18-49, according to Nielsen Media Research.
An early 8 p.m. broadcast of “Everyone Loves Raymond” drew 9.1 million viewers. And “Two and a Half Men,” a sitcom about a wisecracking bachelor and his buttoned-down brother, drew its largest audience from 9 to 10 p.m., with more than 11 million viewers.
