Angels Almost Get Off Scott Free
It was nice to see the Angels stand firm in their negotiations for the right to sign Jered Weaver. I am so sick of Scott Boras’ posturing, threatening, misleading statements to teams during negotiations. He has hoodwinked more than one GM in his time and finally someone didn’t take the bait and stood firm.
I know Mr. Boras has a job to do, but I have difficulty believing he actually sleeps soundly at night. His A-Rod deal with Texas was the biggest swindle of all time, considering no one else was offering near the amount of money that Texas gave him.
Good job, Bill Stoneman.

Scott Boras has the nerve to say that GM Bill Stoneman didn’t win the negotiations for Jered Weaver? Let’s see. Boras asked for a $10-million signing bonus. Stoneman offered $4 million. Weaver signed for $4 million. Looks like a pretty clear win to me.
Then he goes on to say that playing for a hometown team was the ultimate determining factor. Boras must have been confused by the whole Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim drama because the team has played at the same location for as long as his client has been living.
