Man Guilty of Killing, Dismembering Teen
A convict was found guilty Friday of killing a 17-year-old boy in 1998 after they watched the taping of the television comedy show “3rd Rock From the Sun.”
Police said Robert Anthony Marquez, 27, and Bryan Thorne went to Thorne’s grandparents’ home in Brea and Marquez stabbed the boy to death.
Police said Marquez dismembered the boy and threw his remains in a trash container.
The body has not been found and the motive for the killing has never been clear.
Marquez was about to be released from prison after an extortion conviction when Thorne’s friends told police what had happened.
Marquez faces 51 years to life in prison.
