Digital Dailies Sues Studios Over Patent
Digital Dailies & Previews sued major studios in Los Angeles federal court for allegedly using its film editing technique without permission.
The process, which prepares film prints for audience previews, was invented by Oscar-nominated film editor Dean Goodhill, a company principal.
The Los Angeles company is seeking to prevent the distribution of any movies using the editing system, as well as unspecified damages. The studios declined to comment.
