Judge Adds 2 More Counts Against Nichols

A state judge who ordered Terry L. Nichols to stand trial on 160 first-degree murder counts for the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing added two counts for two fetuses whose mothers died in the blast.

State District Judge Allen McCall authorized the charges after Oklahoma’s chief medical examiner, Dr. Fred Jordan, testified that the fetuses could have survived outside the womb.

Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty..

The victims included Robbin Huff and Carrie Ann Lenz, who were pregnant when a bomb ripped through the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building on April 19, 1995. Nichols, 48, is serving life without parole on federal conspiracy and involuntary manslaughter charges for the deaths of eight law enforcement officers in the blast.
