Webber Out Three Weeks
Sacramento King forward Chris Webber will sit out at least three weeks because of a sprained left ankle, the same injury that sidelined him for the first 20 games last season.
The injury will also force him to miss the NBA All-Star game Feb. 9 in Atlanta.
Webber is averaging 23 points, 10.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists.
Webber was injured Tuesday while taking a hook shot over Utah’s Scott Padgett and appeared to come down on Padgett’s foot in the second quarter of a loss to the Jazz.
In addition, King forward-center Scot Pollard will be sidelined five to six weeks after breaking his right hand in the same game. Pollard, playing for the first time after missing 42 games because of a stress fracture in his lower back, is unsure how he was injured.
Meanwhile, a federal judge may delay Webber’s July 8 perjury trial to let defense attorneys review witness statements.
