Tribune Profit Up on Ad Resurgence

Tribune Co., publisher of the Los Angeles Times, said fourth-quarter profit rose 81% as advertising at the company’s television stations and newspapers increased.
Net income rose to $193.5 million, or 57 cents a share, from $106.8 million, or 32 cents, a year earlier, the company said. Revenue rose 8.5% to $1.43 billion.
Shares of Chicago-based Tribune rose 96 cents to $48.94 on the NYSE.
