Eminem Slips; the King Resumes Reign

Which is the bigger surprise on this week’s music charts--that Elvis Presley is No. 1 or that Eminem is not?
Nielsen SoundScan reports that after five weeks on top, Eminem has finally slipped to No. 2 on the U.S. album chart, ceding No. 1 to St. Louis rapper Nelly’s “Nellyville,” which sold 714,000 copies in its opening week. Other top debuts this week: rapper N.O.R.E. at No. 3, singer Truth Hurts at No. 5 and Will Smith at No. 13.
On the singles chart, a remixed version of the relatively obscure 1968 Presley song “A Little Less Conversation” is No. 1, a revival driven by Nike’s use of the song as a centerpiece in its World Cup advertising campaign.
